I have been talking about this for months now…I should have a food blog. I bake almost every weekend, and cook almost every night – 90% of the recipes coming from Gourmet, Bon Appetit or Cooking Light. When I make something I really like, I end up sending the recipe along to my foodie friends and relatives. So, why not have someplace to post them? This way I am only sending the recipe once. And, I can take pictures so people can see what they are cooking. Sounds simple, right?
My biggest delay in creating a blog was the name. I wanted a really good name – something that would catch people’s attention – and have something to do with food. We were at the dinner table talking about it once again – but this time Hannah was engaged (my 7 year old daughter). She said, “I know, it should be called – Dawn’s Awesome Food Blog!” I said with encouragement, “Not bad, but I would rather not have my name in the title.” Not 5 minutes later she came back with, “First look, then cook!” We all looked at her with amazement – that was it. It was perfect – simple, but straightforward. Exactly like my cooking.
